“Are you ‘going with flow?’ asks God. Examine your life very carefully and look for any areas of friction. These are activities or ideals that you maintain that appear to be completely opposite to the positions or actions taken by almost everyone else. It is this friction that shapes you and polishes you into one of My prized possessions.
It illuminates you with a glow that is distinct and different to most others. It is brightness, a shimmering sheen that will stimulate curiosity in the hearts of many that do not possess it. On the other hand, if you are simply following the pack, moving in the same direction as everyone else, there will be no friction says God.
Therefore, there will be no shaping and polishing. Everything about you will ‘blend in’ and there will be no distinction, no separateness or differences through which you can be used as a light or a beacon to others.
You will be ‘in’ the world and ‘of’ the world and will ultimately see the spirit of Esau manifest in your life. He that refuses to be shaped and directed by My Word, will ultimately relinquish his birthright, his inheritance in the Kingdom to come for the equivalent of a ‘bowl of food’. The food for which Esau traded his privileged position, is represented today through the temporal, material objectives that are the focus of the actions of most people today. They pursue assets and ‘things’ using far more effort and focus than they use in pursuing a relationship with Me.
What foolishness is this? There is a nation of Esau’s springing up around you. They will indeed ‘perish through lack of knowledge’ because My Word is true and infallible. Do not confuse friction with stress says God. Stress is meant for destruction. It breaks down the physical body and is an instrument of the enemy.
The pursuit of the world’s purposes will always produce stress for the called and the lost alike. Many are rendered ineffective through this stress because their eyes are on the world and not on Me.
They try to take the easy path, the one that most people are on. They see a light in the distance and proceed towards it in the deception that it shines from the throne room. It does not! One of the most difficult parts of running the race is the fact that there are so many that are running the wrong way on the track. These can be more of a challenge to you than even the lost. They will obstruct you, bump you, try to turn you around and they make your own race more arduous.
This again brings to the fore the importance of the friction in your life. The more perfectly shaped and highly polished you are, the better equipped you will be to deal with the buffeting and jostling that you will experience while running. Any sense of ‘certainty’ regarding the outcome of your race should serve as a warning to you says God.
Certainty breeds complacency and will always lead to costly mistakes.
It is the friction which keeps the wedding garment presented in pristine condition, it is the friction that can take the dull, meaningless things of the world and turn them into the gold silver and precious stones to be laid upon your eternal foundation.
It is the friction that rubs the ‘olive’ of your soul and keeps your lamps brimming with oil avoiding the loss of the 5 foolish virgins.
The friction keeps you focused on polishing and growing your talents so that you hear the good report of the faithful servant and not the suffering of loss reserved for those counted among the wicked servants because they took the easy path. They went with the flow and did not follow My instructions”.
